Exercise 1 · Past Simple

Choose the correct form of the verb.

Last week I   (forget) to congratulate my teacher.

Dear Thao,

I’m a little late. Okay — a few days late. Teachers’ Day came and went, and I didn’t say a word. I’m really sorry about that.

So let me say it now, properly: thank you. Thank you for your patience, for lessons that feel like real conversations, and for making English feel less like a school subject and more like something I can actually use.

On 3 October 2020 you taught your very first lesson. Six years later, I’m one of the lucky students on your path — and I’m grateful for every lesson we’ve had.

Happy (belated) Teachers’ Day!

Your student,Max

Em cảm ơn cô
rất nhiều!

Thank you so much, teacher.

Em xin lỗi vì lời chúc đến muộn ạ.

I’m sorry my wishes came late.

Chúc cô luôn mạnh khỏe, hạnh phúc và tràn đầy năng lượng.

Wishing you good health, happiness and endless energy.

20/11

P.S.

You actually get two Teachers’ Days — this one, and Vietnam’s on 20 November. I missed the first one. For the second, I’ll be early.

Hẹn cô ngày 20/11 — lần này em sẽ không quên!
